November Blues

[Bild nicht mehr verfügbar] Einige Tages ist es nun schon her, da konnte ich das trübe Novemberwetter nicht mehr sehen und brauchte fürs Wohlbefinden ein bißchen Farbe im Haus. Also wurde kurzerhand ein Topf Wasser angesetzt, die Hilfe von Ashford Färbemittel und Haushaltsessig angefordert und 700 Gramm wollweißes Superwash-Garn verwandelten sich in einen Traum von Blau, Petrol und Grün. Die Überraschunng, welche Farben nun genau herauskommen ist immer wieder gut.

In between working on Christmas presents I felt like giving in to the craving for color in the midst of a dark November weekend. Enlisting the help of Ashford dye pigments, the big dye pot and some ordinary household acid I transformed 700 grams of superwash wool into this brilliant mountain of blues, petrols and greens. Just gotta love the surprise effect after seeing the dried yarn for the first time. It’s so different from the soaking wet mass that comes out of the steaming pot.
